The employee was working on a bearing assembly that was in a bench vise. As he was putting pressure on the part with a wrench to tighten it up, the part came out of the vise and started falling to the floor. The employee tried to catch it and pinched the tip of his finger between the falling part and the edge of the work bench resulting in a partial fingertip amputation.
